Comment

Considered a species (rather than a subspecies of Alsodes gargola) by Blotto, Nuñez, Basso, Úbeda, Wheeler, and Faivovich, 2013, Cladistics, 29: 123. J., 26: 21–31, described the larva in comparison with Alsodes gargola. Larval morphology and anatomy discussed by Dias, Vera Candioti, Sabbag, Colaço, Silva, Haddad, Carvalho-e-Silva, and Grant, 2021, J. Zool. Syst. Evol. Res., 59: 1297–1321.
