Craugastor chingopetaca Köhler and Sunyer, 2006, Senckenb. Biol., 86: 262. Holotype: SMF 83214, by original designation. Type locality: "Chingo Petaca, Río San Juan, 10° 44′ 50.9″ N, 83° 50′ 26.3″ W, Departamento Rio San Juan, Nicaragua, 40 m elevation".

Am.: 140–191, provided a key to the genera and species of Brachycephaloidea (= Craugastoridae, Eleutherodactylidae) in Central America and provided maps and photographs of the species, including this one.
