Craugastor metriosistus Ospina-Sarria, Angarita-Sierra, and Pedroza-Banda, 2015, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 10: 169. Holotype: ICN 55561, by original designation. Type locality: " Quebrada Caño la Batea (07°ã59’N, 73°ã24’W, 340–350 m asl), Finca el Cobre, Vereda Vega del Oso, Municipality San Martin, Department of Cesar, Colombia".

Distribution

Known from the upper and middle portions in the valley of the Rio Magdalena, Colombia (departments of Antioquia, Boyacá, Caldas, César, Santander, Norte de Santander, and Tolima), 115 to 1150 m elevation.

In the Craugastor fitzingeri group according to the original publication.  Meza-Joya, Chinchilla-Lemus, Ramos, Armesto, and Acevedo-Rincón, 2019, Herpetol. Notes, 12: 61–69, discussed identification, provided Colombia new localities, and discussed the range (including a dot map). Ovalle-Pacheco, Camacho-Rozo, and Arroyo, 2019, Check List, 15: 392, reported the species from Boyacá, Colombia, and commented on the range in Colombia.
