Cloud forest on the lower slopes of the Andes in northwestern Ecuador (Pichincha, Imbabura, and Junín provinces) at 1900 to 2550 m elevation.

Subgenus Eleutherodactylus, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to the original publication, most similar to Eleutherodactylus calcarulatus.
