Eleutherodactylus exoristus Duellman and Pramuk, 1999, Sci. Pap. Nat. Hist. Mus. Univ. Kansas, 13: 48. Holotype: KU 147051, by original designation. Type locality: "Río Piuntza (03° 52′ S, 78° 15′ W, 1550 m), western slope of the Cordillera del Cóndor, Provincia Morana-Santiago, Ecuador".

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128.
