Distribution

Close vicinity of the city of Loja, Loja Province, Ecuador, from San Lucas in the north to Cristal and San Antonio de Paycapamba in the south, 1937 to 2782 m elevation.

Comment

The sister taxon of Pristimantis (Huicundomantis) torresi and in the Pristimantis phoxocephalus species group according to the original publication, which detailed molecular markers, advertisement call, and adult morphology.
