Pristimantis macrummendozai Acosta-Galvis, 2015, Biota Colomb., 16: 110. Holotype: IAvHAm-11000, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia, departamento de Boyacá, municipio de Cómbita, vereda Santa Bárbara, sector de la laguna La Empedrada, páramo El Valle, flanco occidental de la cordillera Oriental de Colombia, 3551 m s.n.m., 05°44’52,4”N y 73°22’33,6”O".

Known only from the páramo El Valle in the northern part of the Municipio de Cómbita, Departamento Boyacá, western slope of the cordillera Oriental, Colombia, 3507–3553 m elevation.
