Ansonia kanak Matsui, Nishikawa, Eto, and Hossman, 2020, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 37: 97. Holotype: SRC 00614 (former KUHE 55955), by original designation. Type locality: "Camp 2 of Gunung Mulu, Miri Division, State of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo (04°02′31″N, 114°52′16″E, 509 m asl.)".

Distribution

Known from Camp 2 of Gunung Mulu (509 m), Sarawak, and Ulu Kimanis, Papar, of the Crocker Range National Park (754–820 m), Sabah, East Malaysia (Borneo).

Comment

The sister taxon of Ansonia platysoma according to the original publication. Haas, Das, Hertwig, Bublies, and Schulz-Schaeffer, 2022, Guide to the Tadpoles of Borneo: 101–103, summarized the knowledge of habitat, reproduction, larval morphology and coloration.
