See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 610. Das, 2007, Amph. Rept. Brunei: 24, provided a photograph and a brief account. Species not noted as part of the peninsular Malaysia fauna by Chan, Belabut, and Ahmad, 2010, Russ. J. Herpetol., 17: 202-206. Haas, Kueh, Joseph, bin Asri, Das, Hagmann, Schwander, and Hertwig, 2018, Evol. Syst., 2: 89–114, provided a brief account of morphology. Chan and Grismer, 2019, BMC Evol. Biol., 19(95): 3, suggested that the sequence divergence between this species and Ansonia latiffi is so low (below 3%) that they may be conspecific. Haas, Das, Hertwig, Bublies, and Schulz-Schaeffer, 2022, Guide to the Tadpoles of Borneo: 104–106, summarized the knowledge of habitat, reproduction, larval morphology and coloration.
