Cycloramphus asper Werner, 1899, Zool. Anz., 22: 482. Type(s): Not stated; presumably in NHMW, although not mentioned in recent type lists, and not in the ZMB (Heyer, 1983, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 30: 262). Type locality: "Sta. Caterina, Brasilien".

Telmatobius asper Boulenger, 1907, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 7, 19: 394. Syntypes: BMNH (4 specimens), these being 1947.2.15.18–51 (formerly 1905.7.24.13–16) according to museum records; BMNH 1947.2.15.48 designated lectotype by Heyer, 1983, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 30: 289. Type locality: "Theresopolis, Santa Catharina", Brazil. Not a subsequent combination of Cycloramphus asper Werner, 1899. Synonymy by Heyer, 1983, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 30: 289.

Zool., Romania, 4: 230, previous reported as not found by Heyer, 1983, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 30: 289. Type locality: "villeicht Ndjiri-Sümpfe, Schilling?" (= perhaps Ndjiri swamps, Shilling?).
