Colostethus goianus Bokermann, 1975, Iheringia, Zool., 46: 13. Holotype: WCAB 47779, by original designation; now in MZUSP. Type locality: "Chapada dos Veadeiros, 1700 m, cerca de 30 km de Alto Paraíso, Goiás, Brasil".

Not assigned to species group by Rivero, 1990 "1988", Mem. Soc. Cienc. Nat. La Salle, 48: 3-32. Bokermann, 1975, Iheringia, Zool., 46: 13, described larval morphology. Carvalho, Martins, and Giaretta, 2016, Acta Herpetol., Firenze, 11: 21–30, provided an account, noting its advertisement call, absence at the type locality, the morphological indistinguishability of this species, Allobates olfersioides, and Allobates brunneus, and revised the range to include Minaçu and Niquelândia, Goiás, Brazil. Bastos, Signorelli, Morais, Costa, Lima, and Pombal, 2011, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 6: 67–72, reported on the advertisement call. Ramalho, Guerra Batista, Ferraz, Machado, and Prado, 2020, Cuad. Herpetol., 34: 93–97, discussed the range, provided a dot map, and discussed daily activity.
