Comment

Duellman, 1997, Sci. Pap. Nat. Hist. Mus. Univ. Kansas, 2: 13, commented on a population in southern Venezuela. In species group III or VI of Rivero and possibly in Mannophryne according to the original publication, although this conjecture was refuted by the results of Grant, Frost, Caldwell, Gagliardo, Haddad, Kok, Means, Noonan, Schargel, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 299. See account by La Marca, 1997 "1996", Publ. Asoc. Amigos Doñana, 9: 31. See distributional comments by Gorzula and Señaris, 1999 "1998", Scient. Guaianae, 8: 23-24. Señaris, Lampo, Rojas-Runjaic, and Barrio-Amorós, 2014, Guía Ilust. Anf. Parque Nac. Canaima: 112–113, provided a photograph and a brief account for the Parque Nacional de Canaima, Venezuela. See Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (1: e180): 37, for comments on range, taxonomy, and literature. Señaris and Rojas-Runjaic, 2020, in Rull and Carnaval (eds.), Neotrop. Divers. Patterns Process.: 571–632, commented on range and conservation status in the Venezuelan Guayana.
