Comment

Probably contains a number of undescribed species, according to Rivero, 1991, Caribb. J. Sci., 27: 12. See brief account by Coloma, 1995, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 87: 33. See comment regarding type locality by Rivero and Almendáriz C., 1992 "1991", Rev. Politécnica, Quito, 16: 118–119. Ruiz-Carranza, Ardila-Robayo, and Lynch, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 365–415, did not include this species as part of the Colombia fauna. Barrio-Amorós and Fuentes-Ramos, 1999, Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 19: 2, reported this species from Venezuela, but did not provide a precise locality. Barrio-Amorós, 2004, Rev. Ecol. Lat. Am., 9: 7, reported on distribution and relevant literature and suggested that presence in southern Venezuela required confirmation.
