Limnonectes fastigatus Stuart, Schoen, Nelson, Maher, Neang, Rowley, and McLeod, 2020, Zootaxa, 4894: 459. Holotype: MVZ 258214, by original designation. English Names

Virachey Fanged Frog (Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 23). 

Distribution

Known only from Virachey National Park, Veunsai District, Ratanakiri Province, northeastern Cambodia; eastern Kon Tum Province, Vietnam.

Natural Resident: Cambodia, Vietnam

Comment

In the Limnonectes kuhlii complex and the sister taxon of Limnonectes kiziriani, according to the original publication. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 23, reported the species from eastern Kon Tum Province, Vietnam, the identity confirmed by mtDNA analysis. Pham, Le, Ngo, Ziegler, and Nguyen, 2022, Acad. J. Biol., 44: 115–121, provided a record from Chu Mom Ray National Park, Kon Tum Province, Vietnam, confirmed by mtDNA analysis, and presumably the same record mentioned by Poyarkov, et al. (2021).
