Hyla granosa gracilis Melin, 1941, Göteborgs K. Vetensk. Vitterh. Samh. Handl., Ser. B, 1: 21. Syntypes: NHMG 467 (2 specimens), according to Duellman, 1977, Das Tierreich, 95: 62. Type locality: "Rio Uaupés (north of Ipanoré), [Amazonas,] Brazil".

Distribution

Known with certainty in Brazil from the type locality “Rio Uaupes (north of Ipanoré); the Municipality of Novo Airão (Parque Nacional do Jaú, and Parque Nacional de Anavilhanas), state of Amazonas; and in Venezuela from Canaripó; San José de Chipiro, boca del río Ventuari; Macuruco, confluencia Orinoco-Ventuari; and from Iwokrama, Guyana. Reported from Guainia and Vichada, Colombia, near the Venezuela border. This species occurs syntopically with Boana cinerascens and may occur more widely

Removed from the synonymy of Boana cinerascens by Sturaro, Costa, Maciel, Lima, Rojas-Runjaic, Mejia, Ron, and Peloso, 2020, Zootaxa, 4750: 14 (who included it in the Boana punctata group), where it had been placed by Rivero, 1972 "1971", Caribb. J. Sci., 11: 181. See comment under Boana cinerascens for literature likely addressing this species as (then) part of Boana cinerascens. Reported from Guainia and Vichada, Colombia, by Osorno-Muñoz, Gutiérrez-Lamus, and Caicedo-Portilla, 2021, In Oviedo et al., Plan de Manejo Ambiental: 93–105 (not seen by DRF).
