Comment

Related to Hyla pulchella according to the original publication. In the Hypsiboas pulchellus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 87-88. See account (under Hyla multilineata [for ambiguous reasons]) by Heyer, Rand, Cruz, Peixoto, and Nelson, 1990, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 31: 252-253. In the Hyla pulchella group of Faivovich, Garcia, Ananias, Lanari, Basso, and Wheeler, 2004, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 32: 945. Marcelino, Haddad, and Alexandrino, 2009, J. Herpetol., 43: 351–361, reported on geographic distribution and morphological variation, but apparently did not accept the synonymy of Hyla vittigera Werner, 1894, this synonymy having been made by Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 64. Teixeira, Marcelino, Alexandrino, Haddad, and Giaretta, 2022, J. Herpetol., 56: 110–119, demonstrated via molecular and acoustic data that Boana bischoffi is composed of two leaky historical lineages that introgress where they contact, but refrained from recognizing them taxonomically. Silva-Soares, Garcia, Del’ Maestro, and Santos, 2022, Oecologia Aust., 26: 614–619, provided a record from western Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a dot map of the species.
