In the Hyla albopunctata group according to the original publication. In the Hypsiboas albopunctatus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 86. Pansonato, Ávila, Kawashita-Ribeiro, and Morais, 2011, Salamandra, 47: 55–58, reported on the advertisement call and provided a range map of the species. Fouquet, Marinho, Réjaud, Carvalho, Caminer, Jansen, Rainha, Rodrigues, Werneck, Lima, Hrbek, Giaretta, Venegas, Chávez, and Ron, 2021, Syst. Biodiversity, 19: Appendix 5, provided the record from Yucum, Los Lagos, Bolivia.
