Distribution

Known only from two location in southern Minas Gerais, Brazil, the type locality (Poços de Caldas, on the São Paulo frontier) and the Parque Estadual da Serra do Papagaio, and the border of western Rio de Janeiro state.

Phylogenet. Evol., 32: 944. In the Hypsiboas pulchellus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 87-88. Santos, Oliveira, São Pedro, Monteiro-Leonel, and Feio, 2009, Check List, 5: 27-31, provided a second record and provided a distribution map. Martins, Giaretta, Carvalho, and Miwa, 2016, Phyllomedusa, 15: 51–64, reported on vocalizations.
