Comment

In Hylini of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 98. Bromeliohyla is the former Hyla bromeliacea group of Duellman, 1970, Monogr. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas: 429. Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543–583, in a study of Genbank sequences (but seemingly excluding the rhodopsin locus of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294, suggested that Bromeliohyla is imbedded phylogenetically within Ptychohyla. This result was also recovered by Portik, Streicher, and Wiens, 2023, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 188 (107907): 47, 67, but without any taxonomic remedy.
