Distribution

Northeastern Argentina (north from southern Santa Fe Province), Uruguay, and extreme southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina); likely in adjacent southern Paraguay.

Achaval and Olmos, 2003, Anf. Rept. Uruguay, ed. 2: 37, provided a brief account and photograph for the Uruguay population. de Sá and Lavilla, 1997, Amphibia-Reptilia, 18: 229–240, reported on larval morphology. Brusquetti and Lavilla, 2006, Cuad. Herpetol., 20: 23, suggested that this species will be found in Paraguay. Vera Candioti, D’Andrea, and Brodeur, 2018, Herpetol. Notes, 11: 897–900, provided a record from southern Santa Fe Province, Argentina, and discussed the range.
