Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 104, provided a brief account for this species which he included in his Litoria amboinensis complex. O'Shea, Sanchez, Kathriner, Mecke, Carvalho, Ribeiro, Soares, Araujo, and Kaiser, 2015, Asian Herpetol. Res., 6: 81–82, detailed the range in East Timor.
