Litoria mucro Menzies, 1993, Aust. J. Zool., 41: 246. Holotype: UP 2744, by original designation. Type locality: "near Rauit village, Nuku District of the East Sepik Province of Papua New Guinea ..., altitude about 550 m".

Distribution

Known from the type locality in the isolated Torricelli Mountain Range on the north coast of Papua New Guinea and Cenderawash Bay on Yapen Island, Papua Province (New Guinea), Indonesia.

Comment

In the Litoria nigropunctata group according to the original publication. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 145-146, provided a brief account and included this in his Litoria iris group. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, noted paratypes missing from the UP. Günther, 2015 "2014", Abh. Naturwiss. Ver. Bremen, 47: 225–231, provided records from Yapen Island, Papua Province, Indonesia, and provided a considerable amount of biological and life-history data.
