Hyperolius diaphanus Laurent, 1972, Explor. Parc Natl. Virunga, Ser. 2, 22: 67. Holotype: MRAC, according to Laurent, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 209; not located, but in either MRAC or IRSNB according to Lang, 1990, Doc. Trav., Inst. R. Sci. Nat. Belg., 59: 8, so presumed lost. Type locality: "Kigulube, 900 à 1. 000 m, territorio de Shabunda, Kivu", eastern Dem. Rep. Congo.
