Comment

See brief accounts by Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 155 (who noted it to be only known from the holotype), and Channing, 2001, Amph. Cent. S. Afr.: 184-185. Marques, Ceríaco, Blackburn, and Bauer, 2018, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 65 (Suppl. II): 115, provided a map and brief account for Angola. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 396, regarded this as part of Hyperolius cinnamomeoventris 'East' based on unpublished molecular evidence.  Ceríaco, Marques, André, Afonso, Blackburn, and Bauer, 2020, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 162: 392, discussed the unique juvenile type.
