Holotype: ZSM 664/2003, by original designation. Type locality: "Ranomafana National Park (ca. 21.1550° S, 47.4994° E, ca. 1000 m a.s.l.), eastern Madagascar". From or directly adjacent to (1) Ranomafana National Park, and (2) Ambohitsara and (3) a site along the road from Ifanadiana to Tolongoina (near Ifanadiana), in northeast-central Madagascar.

Comment

In the Gephyromantis boulengeri complex of Miralles, Köhler, Glaw, Wollenberg Valero, Crottini, Rosa, Du Preez, Gehring, Vieites, Ratsoavina, and Vences, 2023, Salamandra, 59: 1–41, who provided morphological and molecular markers, phylogenetic placement, and a dot map as well as call information.
