Leptobrachium sylheticum Al-Razi, Maria, and Poyarkov, 2021, J. Nat. Hist., London, 55: 98. Holotype: JnUZool-A0120, by original designation. Type locality: "lowland mixed evergreen forest of Lawachara National Park, Moulvibazar District, Sylhet Division in the northeast of Bangladesh (24.325061° N, 91.786152° E; elevation 56 m a.s.l.)".  

English Names

Sylhet Litter Toad (Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Deepak, and Kulkarni, 2023, Fauna India Checklist, vers. 5.0 : 5).

Distribution

Sylhet Division of Bangladesh and adjacent Tripura state, northeastern India.

Natural Resident: Bangladesh, India

Comment

External morphology, advertisement call, and molecular markers discussed in the original publication, where this species was placed in the Leptobrachium smithi complex along with Leptobrachium tenasserimense, Leptobrachium rakhinense, and Leptobrachium smithi, and also noted to have been confused in part with Leptobrachium hasseltii, Leptobrachium smithi, and Leptobrachium rakhinense in previous literature, which they detailed.
