Oreolalax sterlingae Nguyen, Phung, Le, Ziegler, and Böhme, 2013, Copeia, 2013: 216. Holotype: IEBR A.2012.1, by original designation. Type locality: "northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Province, Sa Pa District, Hoang Lien Mountain, 2900 m".

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality on Mount Fansipan, the Hoang Lien Mountain Range, Sa Pa District, and ca. 20 km northeast in Mount Pu Ta Leng, Bat Xat Natural Reserve, Bat Xat District , both in Lao Cai Province, northern Vietnam; expected to be found at elevations of 2345–3108 m in the Hoang Lien Mountain Range.

Comment

Rowley, Tapley, Nguyen, and Altig, 2017, Zootaxa, 4272: 579–582, reported on larval morphology. Tapley, Nguyen, Portway, Nguyen, Luong, Kane, Harding, and Rowley, 2020, Herpetol. Notes, 13: 497–500, reported a second locality and discussed the range and conservation status.
