Scutiger spinosus Jiang, Wang, Li, and Che in Jiang, Wang, Zou, Yan, Li, and Che, 2016, Zool. Res., Kunming, 37: 23. Holotype: KIZ 011114, by original designation. Type locality: "62K, Medog, Tibet, China (N29°42′33.6″, E95°34′56.0″, elevation 2 705 m)."

Distribution

High elevation forest in the vicinity of the type locality (62K, Medog, Xizang, China) 2705 m elevation; reported from Trongsa District, Bhutan (see comment).

Previously confused with Scutiger nyingchiensis according to the original publication, who also noted that a record of Scutiger nyingchiensis from Sela Pass (Arunachal Pradesh), India (Sarania, Devi, Kumar, Wang, and Rakshit, 2015, Curr. Tibet: 19, and Jiang, Rao, Yuan, Wang, Li, Hou, Che, and Che, 2012, Zootaxa, 3388: 36) refers to this species. Wangyal, Bower, Sherub, Tshewang, Wangdi, Rinchen, Puntsho, Tashi, Koirala, Bhandari, Phuntsho, Koirala, Ghalley, Chaida, Tenzin, Powrel, Tshewang, Raika, Jamtsho, Kinley, Gyeltshen, Tashi, Nidup, Wangdi, Phuentsho, Norbu, Wangdi, Wangchuk, Tobgay, Dorji, and Das, 2020, Herpetol. Rev., 51: 793, tentatively identified a photograph as of this species from Bhutan.
