Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Anlong County, 1400 to 1600 m elevation), southwestern Guizhou, China.

Comment

The advertisement call was presented in the original publication where it was also suggested on the basis of molecular markers that this nearest relative is Megophrys (now Boulenophrys) binchuanensisLyu, Qi, Wang, Zhang, Zhao, Zeng, Wan, Yang, Mo, and Wang, 2023, Zool. Res., Kunming, 44: 415–416, provided an account and noted it to be in their Boulenophrys omeimontis group.
