Ophryophryne microstoma Boulenger, 1903, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 7, 12: 187. Syntypes: BMNH (4 specimens), by museum records, these being BMNH 1947.2.22.50–53 (1903.4.29.104–107); BMNH 1947.2.22.52 (formerly 1903.4.29.106) designated lectotype by Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 31. Type locality: "Man-son Mountains, Tonkin, altitude 3000–4000 feet", Vietnam.

Distribution

Northern Vietnam (Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, and Son La provinces southwards to Dak Lak, Tuyen Quang, and Lam Dong provinces) and adjacent southern Guangxi and Yunnan, as well as southern Guangdong, China, and Chiang Mai and Nan provinces, Thailand.
