Distribution

Known only from 3100–3500 m on the northern slopes of Mt. Giluwe, Southern Highlands Province, and (likely) from Omyaka Camp in alpine grassland at 3200 m elevation on the Kaijende Highlands of Enga Province, Papua New Guinea.

Günther and Richards, 2012 "2011", Vert. Zool., Dresden, 61: 343–372, provided the record from Enga Province, Papua New Guinea of a population they assigned to Albericus cf. alpestris
