Distribution

Endemic to Colombia. Currently known from three localities in the transitional areas between the Orinoco and the Amazon basins in Meta Department, Colombia, all the localities are located within sub-basins of the Guayabero and Guaviare rivers, at an elevation between 182 to 424 m

Comment

Comparative morphology, advertisement call, and molecular markers were detailed in the original publication, where it was noted this was previously confused with Elachistocleis ovalis. In the Elachistocleis surinamensis group of Novaes-e-Fagundes, Lyra, Loredam, Carvalho, Haddad, Rodrigues, Baldo, Barrasso, Loebmann, Ávila, Brusquetti, Prudente, Wheeler, Orrico, and Peloso, 2023, Zool.
