Microhyla tetrix Poyarkov, Pawangkhanant, Gorin, Juthong, and Suwannapoom, 2020, J. Nat. Hist., London, 54: 1535. Holotype: AUP 00603, by original designation. Type locality: "lowland dipterocarp tropical forest in Klong Sok District, Surat Thani Province, Thailand [coordinates 8.86578°N, 98.60793°E; elevation 80 m above sea level (asl)]". Distribution

Peninsular Thailand at ca. 50 to 800 m elevation in Ratchaburi Province (Suan Phueng District) in the north to Krabi Province in the south; in other words  the major part of its distribution lies to the north of the Isthmus of Kra, although the southernmost population in Krabi Province is located south of this important biogeographic border; possibly to be found in adjacent peninsular Myanmar.

Comment

In the Microhyla superciliaris group, the sister taxon of Microhyla superciliaris, but previously confused with Microhyla annectans, according to the original publication. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 42, noted that this species has been confused in the literature with Microhyla annectens
