Syntypes: BMNH 1874.4.29.891–900 (now reregistered as 1947.2.11.9–18) and 1874.4.29.1010 (now reregistered 1947.2.30.94), according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 95, according to museum records. Type locality: "Malabar", India; Biju, 2001, Occas. Publ. Indian Soc. Conserv. Biol., 1: 8, noted the imprecision of this type locality.
