Scaphiophryne menabensis Glos, Glaw, and Vences, 2005, Copeia, 2005: 253. Holotype: ZSM 186.2003, by original designation. Type locality: "western Madagascar, province of Toliara, district of Morandava, in the Kirindy Forest C.F.P.F. (forest pond CS5), 44° 39′ E, 20° 03′ S, 18-40 m elevation".
