Distribution

High elevations of the Western Ghats; known only from ‘Anamallaye’ and Grass Hills in Tamil Nadu state, Eravikulam in Anamudi summit, Hut shola, Bhimanoda, Kolukkumalai, and Poovar in Kerala, India, 500–2000 m elevation.

Biju, 2001, Occas. Publ. Indian Soc. Conserv. Biol., 1: 16, commented on the range. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 75, provided a brief account (as Nyctibatrachus pygmaeus). Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 146, provided range, systematic comments, and partial taxonomic bibliography.
