Type locality: "Hatam", Arfak Mountains, Vogelkop Peninsula, Papua, Indonesia (New Guinea).

Distribution

Central highlands of New Guinea (Papua New Guinea and Papua region of Indonesia), including the mountains of the Bird's head, generally above 1500 m; Goodenough and Ferguson Islands in the d'Entrecasteaux Group.

Staatl. Mus. Tierkd., Dresden, 24: 209–216, provided a record for Papua, Indonesia. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 133–134, provided a brief account and considered this species to be in his Litoria pratti group. Kraus, 2013, Herpetol. Rev., 44: 278, provided a record from Mount Trafalfar, Northern Province, Papua New Guinea.
