Syntypes: 26 specimens mentioned in original description; syntypes include AMS R4613, R54693–95, R54700–04, R60771, with 16 specimens not located according to Cogger, 1979, Rec. Aust. Mus., 32: 174. Type locality: "St. Joseph's [= Angabunga] River district", southern lowlands, Papua New Guinea. Synonymy by Tyler, 1968, Zool. Verh., Leiden, 96: 68.
