Ambangulu Puddle Frog (Channing, 2021, J. Nat. Hist., London, 54: 2889). 

Distribution

North Pare and easternmost West Usambara Mountains of Tanzania; likely to be found in the interceding South Pare and other parts of the West Usambara Mountains.

Comment

The sister of Phrynobatrachus krefftii, with which it was previously confused, according to the original publication. See comment under Phrynobatrachus kreffti, with which this species was confused prior to 2020, for access to relevant literature. Channing, 2021, J. Nat. Hist., London, 54: 2889–2896, described the advertisement call and tadpole morphology.
