Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Amietia angolensis by Channing, Dehling, Lötters, and Ernst, 2016, Zootaxa, 4155: 37–40 (who provided an account), where it had been placed by De Witte, 1930, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 19: 261; Loveridge, 1933, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 74: 363. (This synonymy disputed by Parker, 1931 "1930", Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1930: 897.) See comment under Amietia angolensis for access to older literature that may address this species under the older umbrella name. Manthey, Reyes-Velasco, Freilich, and Boissinot, 2017, Biol. J. Linn. Soc., 122: 801–813, reported on molecular phylogeography in the Ethiopian Highlands. Spawls, Wasonga, and Drewes, 2019, Amph. Kenya: 32, provided a range map for Kenya, photograph, and brief characterization. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 356–357, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. Dehling and Sinsch, 2023, Diversity, 15 (512): 1–81, discussed the range, identification, natural history, advertisement call, and conservation status in Rwanda. Behangana, Byaruhanga, Magala, Katumba, Kagurusi, Dendi, and Luiselli, 2023, Wetlands, 43(88): 1–13, reported, as Amietia rubrica, on presence in the wetlands of southwestern Uganda.
