Distribution

Endemic to Borneo: Sabah (Mount Kinabalu, Kampung Kiau Taburi, Danum Valley, Tawau Hills Park, Maliau Basin, Tambunan and Penampang) and Sarawak (Kubah National Park), Malaysia; West Kalimantan (Kubah National Park and Bukit Baka Raya National Pari), Indonesia.

Comment

Recovered by Quah, Grismer, Wood, Lim, Yambun Imbun, and Anuar, 2021, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 71: 75–99, as the sister of Abavorana nazgul + Abavorana luctuosa and the name resurrected by them from the synonymy of Abavorana luctuosa, with which it was previously confused. Ujang, Llano-Sánchez, Maiwald, and Das, 2021, Herpetol. Rev., 52: 341, provided a record from Bukit Baka Raya National Park, Melawi Regency, Kalimantan Province (Borneo), Indonesia.
