Comment

Previously confused with Amolops cremnobatus, according to the original publication, where this member of the Amolops larutensis group was distinguished by larval and adult morphology, coloration, and mt- and nuDNA molecular markers. Pham, Dogra, Gawor, Rauhaus, Kloeble, Nguyen, and Ziegler, 2015, Salamandra, 51: 111–120, provided the first record (as Amolops cremnobatus) for Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam, and included a tadpole description and staging. Reported (as Amolops cremnobatus) from Xuan Nha Nature Reserve, Son La Province, northwestern Vietnam, by Pham, Nguyen, Pham, Sung, Le, Vaxong, and Ziegler, 2022, Herpetol. Notes, 15: 169–178, who also provided descriptive notes on the new specimens.
