Odorrana liboensis Luo, Wang, Xiao, Wang, and Zhou, 2021, Asian Herpetol. Res., 12: 386. Holotype: GZNU20180608004, by original designation. Type locality: "Maolan National Nature Reserve (25.481711° N, 108.078003° E, ca. 715 m a.s.l.), Libo County, Guizhou Province, China".

Known from the type locality, a cave in Maolan National Nature Reserve, Libo County, Guizhou Province, 715 m elevation, and from Nongyao, Napo County, Baise City, Guangxi Province, China.

Most closely related to Odorrana lipuensis according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed. : 937–943, provided a genetically-confirmed record from Nongyao, Napo County, Baise City, Guangxi Province, China (23°01′21″ N, 105°50′58″ E).
