Rana taihangensis Chen in Shen, Xu, Yang, Chen, Xiao, and Chen, 2022, Asian Herpetol. Res., 13: 149. Holotype: HNNU2104II018, by original designation. Type locality: "Huixian City (35°37’43.60’’N, 113°36’24.84’’E, 1025 m a.s.l.) in Henan Province, China."

Comment

In the Rana cheninensis group according to the original publication, where comparative adult and larval morphology, morphometrics, and molecular markers were detailed. The species was formerly confused with Rana chensinensis.
