Indirana tysoni Dahanukar, Modak, Krutha, Nameer, Padhye, and Molur, 2016, J. Threatened Taxa, 8: 9258. Holotype: BNHS 5979, by original designation. Type locality: "India: Kerala: Ranipuram Vested Forest (12.4190N & 75.3530E, elevation 932m)".

Known from two localities in the Western Ghats of South India: Ranipuram (932 m elevation), Kerala, and Chikmagalur district (Charmadi Ghats) and Kodagu district (Bhagamandala, Coorg, Madikeri and Thalakaveri) in Karnataka.
