Philautus banaensis Bourret, 1939, Annexe Bull. Gen. Instr. Publique, Hanoi, 1939: 15, 34. Syntypes: 6 specimens, including MNHNP 48.0159–161, according to Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 51, 83–34, who designated as lectotype MNHNP 1948.0160, redescribed it and discussed problems with identification of the types. Type locality: "Bana" (= Ba Na), Quang Nam-Danang Province, Vietnam.

Distribution

Central Vietnam (Hai Van Pass and the foot of the eastern slope of the Annam mountains in Quang Nam-Danang Province, Gia Lai, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Ngai, and Quang Binh Provinces) into Xekong Province, southeastern Laos. See comment.
