Ixalus flaviventris Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 105. Syntypes: BMNH 1947.2.27.2–7, 1947.2.26.94, 1947.2.27.1, 1947.2.26.98–99, according to Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 30, who designated BMNH 1947.2.26.98 as lectotype and described it on page 73–74. Type locality: "Malabar", India. Biju, 2001, Occas. Publ. Indian Soc. Conserv. Biol., 1: 8, noted the imprecision of this type locality.
