Theloderma leporosa Tschudi, 1838, Classif. Batr.: 32, 73. Syntypes: originally RMNH (2 specimens) of which RMNH 1754 is the only remaining specimen mentioned by Tschudi, according to M.S. Hoogmoed In Inger, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 550. Type locality: "Sumatra", Indonesia; incorrectly stated by Inger, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 550, as "Padang, Sumatra", Indonesia.
