Type locality: "south slope of Little Pisgah Mountain (35° 29′ 42″ N 82° 20′ 08″ W, locality 31), Henderson County, North Carolina, at an elevation of 1109 m", USA.

In the Plethodon glutinosus group, Plethodon jordani complex, according to the original publication. Weisrock and Larson, 2006, Biol. J. Linn.
