Distribution

Southeastern Louisiana northeast of Lake Pontchartrain east through (presumably) Mississippi and (vouchered) South Louisiana to the western Panhandle of Florida.

Comment

 Fedler, Enge, and Moler, 2023, Zootaxa, 5258: 351–378, found this species to form the sister taxon of one of the cryptic lineages of nominal Siren "intermedia", and provided morphological and molecular markers for its delimitation and phylogenetic placement.
